Sri Lanka Police has announced new measures to tackle traffic offences in Colombo, effective from Monday, January 22, 2024.
Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Deshabandu Tennakoon said the Police will be using CCTV cameras to monitor traffic offences in Colombo.
He further said that the CCTV cameras will be utilized to prosecute offenders accordingly.
Acting IGP Tennakoon added that the fine sheets will be sent to the nearest Police Station of the vehicle’s registered owner. (NewsWire)
