Showers are expected in some parts of Sri Lanka today, mostly in the afternoon or evening, according to the Department of Meteorology.
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts after 2.00 p.m.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the North-western province and Mannar and Nuwara-Eliya districts during the evening or night.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Western, Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts during the morning.
Meanwhile, showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Hambantota via Colombo and Galle during the afternoon or night.
Winds will be variable and wind speed will be 15-25 kmph. Sea areas around the island will be slight. Temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers. (NewsWire)
