The End of 44 Years Preparation & Construction, the Beginning of a Brand-New Journey
Dr. Ramesh Pathirana, the Minister of Industries and Health of Sri Lanka, Hon. Marjan Faleel, The Member of Parliament , Mr. Rizwan Naeem, The Vice Chairman Chinafort Gem and Jewellery Trades Association , Ms. Ruby Liu , The President of GUILD Gem Laboratories ,Mr. Andrew Lucas , The Senior Vice President of GUILD Gem Laboratories , President of GUILD Gemology Education. Invited guests from countries such as the United States, China, and Sri Lanka attended the grand opening ceremony, with over 300 guests present.
Representatives of GUILD (Sri Lanka) laboratory partners and CGJTA members, as well as guests from around the world, witnessed this important historical moment together. The official opening of the GUILD (Sri Lanka) laboratory marks the establishment of a new landmark in the global map of GUILD, and also marks the end of 44 years of preparation and construction, opening a new journey.
The highly anticipated opening ceremony began with the traditional Sri Lankan oil lamp ceremony, where the distinguished guests lit the oil lamps one by one, creating a poetic atmosphere. The subsequent grand opening ceremony also incorporated inspiration from the classic cinema screen, showcasing the extraordinary charm of colorful gemstones spanning different countries and races through video format.
The grand opening ceremony was held at the Cinnamon Bentota Hotel in Beruwala, Sri Lanka, accompanied by a magnificent opening video showcasing years of gemological research and testing data from the GUILD Gem Laboratories.
“Opening in Beruwala is not just another branch for Guild, we are committed to our partnership with Sri Lanka. China Fort will be our frontier of gemological research. ” Ms. Ruby Liu said in her welcome speech , The President of GUILD Gem Laboratories. “We are new in Sri Lanka, but we already feel at home. It’s our duty to serve the industry here and their global customers. Please join us to celebrate the color gemstone industry, and celebrate the success of everyone involved.”
