Sri Lanka’s Commissioner General of Elections, Saman Sri Ratnayake has warned that election surveys which influence the independent views of voters are a punishable offence.
In a message to the media, Saman Sri Ratnayake said that persons involved in such surveys could be arrested.
He further made a request to refrain from conducting election surveys which influence the independent views of voters.
The message comes as Sri Lanka heads into a Presidential Election on September 21, 2024, in which 38 candidates are set to contest. (Newswire)
