Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa visited the Palestine Embassy in Colombo today to express solidarity with the people of Palestine, amidst the escalating conflict between Israel and Palestine.
During discussions with the Palestinian Ambassador, former President Rajapaksa said there was no room for terrorism anywhere in the world and war was not the solution.
Drawing from Sri Lanka’s own experiences with war, Rajapaksa emphasized the urgency of peace, which he said holds the promise of prosperity for civilians in both countries.
“I have consistently supported the Palestinian cause as the Founder and President of the Sri Lanka Society for Solidarity with Palestine. War is never a solution,” the former President added. (NewsWire)
