The Department of Meteorology has issued a severe lightning advisory for the Eastern, Uva, Central and Northern provinces and the Hambantota and Polonnaruwa districts.
According to the department, the lightning advisory is effective until 11.00 pm today.
The public is requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by lightning activity. (Newswire)
