President Ranil Wickremesinghe, who is currently on a visit to Australia, held discussions with two high-ranking Australian State Officials today.
The Premier of Western Australia, Roger Cook called on President Ranil Wickremesinghe in Perth today.
Australia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Penny Wong thereafter, called on President Wickremesinghe, also in Perth.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe is in Australia to participate in the 7th Indian Ocean Conference in Perth.
The President is scheduled to deliver the keynote address at the conference which will be underway from February 9 – 10.
During his visit, President Wickremesinghe also engaged with members of the Sri Lankan Diaspora in Perth.
According to the President’s Media Division (PMD), the President provided updates on Sri Lanka’s recovery efforts, outlining plans for economic modernization.
The PMD said the Diaspora, in turn, expressed their readiness to assist the government in various sectors such as climate change and tourism to advance economic development. (NewsWire)
