The son-in-law of former minister Rohitha Abeygunawardena has refuted reports claiming that two luxury vehicles had been found in his residence in Aniwate, Kandy recently.
Speaking to the media today, he said there was a mud-slinging campaign going around tarnishing his and his father-in-law’s reputations.
Stating that he currently resides in Colombo, he further said that the vehicles had been found in Kandy and that he was not involved in any way.
Rohitha Abeygunawardena’s son-in-law further said that he has filed a complaint with the Police against the false reports.
His comments come after the Kandy Crimes Division had found a BMW and a luxury SUV in the garage of a residence in Aniwatte, Kandy recently.
It was initially reported that the vehicle belonged to a relative of former minister Rohitha Abeygunawardena and was suspected to have been illegally brought into the country. (Newswire)
