Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has vowed to suspend all liquor licences provided for political benefit in the recent past.
Addressing an event, MP Premadasa revealed that several liquor and beer permits have been secretly provided to Parliamentarians recently.
He said these liquor licences are not directly given to the Parliamentarians but are offered to their close associates.
“I vow to suspend all these secretly given liquor permits within the end of the year,” he added.
The Opposition Leader further said that future liquor permits will only be provided via the approved systems and through a public platform.
