Former President and Leader of the United National Party (UNP) Ranil Wickremesinghe is to make a special statement on Thursday, October 17.
This will be the first time the former President will make a statement since the Presidential Election in September.
Wickremesinghe is expected to speak about the present political climate and future plans.
The former President has reportedly decided not to contest in the upcoming General Elections and will also forgo entering Parliament through the national list.
However, several parties which pledged support to Wickremesinghe are set to contest under the Gas Cylinder symbol as the New Democratic Front. (Newswire)
