Cabinet approval has been granted for the allocation of a block of land in Pitipana, Homagama on a lease of 30 years for the construction of a grid substation by the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB).
As the need for electricity for urban development projects related to science and technology cities has increased, the CEB had requested the Urban Development Authority to allocate a portion of land from the Mahenawatta land located in Pitipana, Homagama for the construction of a grid substation in that area.
Accordingly, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal presented by the Minister of Urban Development and Housing.
As per the approval, the relevant block of land of 2 acres, 3 roods and 15.41 perches will be allocated to the CEB on a lease basis for 30 years based on the valuation of the Government’s Chief Appraiser. (Newswire)
