Australian (Victorian) Parliamentary delegation visits Sri Lanka

A delegation consisting of Members of Parliament for the State of Victoria, Australia, visited the Parliament of Sri Lanka on Thursday (Jan 04).

According to a Parliament statement, the Australian (Victorian) Parliamentary delegation included Lee Tarlamis OAM, Pauline Richards and Gary Mass. 

The delegation met the Acting Secretary General of the Parliament, Chaminda Kularatne, where they discussed the International University on Climate Change to be established in Sri Lanka, the sectoral oversight committees in both parliaments, and the electoral system.

Discussions were also held on parliamentary proceedings and further increasing educational opportunities for Sri Lankan students in Australia. 

This event was attended by Ven Sevanagala Nandarathana Thera, the Chief Incumbent of the Australian Dhamma Temple, Narendra Fernando, Serjeant-at-Arms of the Parliament, and Prof. Ashu Marasinghe, the President’s Parliamentary Affairs Advisor.
