The prevalent rainy condition is expected to temporarily increase over the Eastern, Northern, North-central, and Central provinces starting tomorrow (Jan 18), according to the Department of Meteorology.
As such, showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Uva province and the Matale and Nuwara-Eliya districts today.

Fairly strong winds of 30-40 kmph can be expected at times over the Eastern slope of the central hills and Northern, North-central, Eastern, North-western and Uva provinces and Hambantota district.
