Former Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe says he was subject to poisoning while leaving on an overseas tour in the recent past.
Speaking during an event, MP Ranasinghe said he had been severely ill for over a month due to the incident.
Revealing details in this regard, MP Ranasinghe said he had consumed food suspected to be laced with poison during his visit to Dubai, Malaysia, and Japan recently.
The former minister said he was severely ill for over a month while in Japan, and had returned to good health due to the treatments provided by Japanese and Sri Lankan doctors.
MP Ranasinghe further said that it has come to a point where their lives were in danger from people who are hell-bent on holding on to power. (Newswire)
