Two among four prisoners who had escaped from the Angunukolapelessa Prison this week, have been apprehended while at the Mawella Harbour last evening.
The two prisoners arrested by the Tangalle Police are residents of Ambalantota and had been imprisoned for the possession of heroin.
The four prisoners had escaped while engaging in outdoor work at the Angunukolapelessa Prison on Tuesday, after which a search operation had been launched in the vicinity.
The prisoners will be handed over to the Angunukolapelessa Prison after the Tangalle Police present facts to the courts. (Newswire)
