The Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau (SLBFE) has signed a new agreement with Japanese firm, IM Japan to ensure job opportunities for skilled Sri Lankan workers in Japan.
Issuing a statement, the SLBFE said the agreement in this regard was signed by SLBFE Chairman AAM. Hilmy and Director General of IM Japan, Masnobu Komiya on Wednesday (Oct 11).
Under the agreement, job opportunities are to be provided for three sectors, including health and agriculture, while selected workers will be provided a contract for five (05) years.
Meanwhile, Minister of Foreign Employment and Labour Manusha Nanayakkara has also engaged in a discussion with representatives of IM Japan.
The discussion focused on the Japanese language exams for Sri Lankan migrant workers and the establishment of a training centre in Sri Lanka. (NewsWire)
