Puttalam District MP Ali Sabri Raheem has been apprehended by the Kalpitiya police. The arrest occurred shortly after Raheem appeared at the Kalpitiya Police Station this morning (20), in response to a recently issued warrant.
The authorities have confirmed that Raheem will be presented in court later today.
Last year, Raheem became the center of a scandal when he was caught at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Colombo with a significant amount of undeclared gold and mobile phones. (NewsWire)
