An 11-year-old child was reported dead after sustaining injuries to the head in the Kithulgala area in Nooriya, Deraniyagala on Sunday.
The Police said the child had been injured after hitting her head on a rock near her house and had died upon admission to the Deraniyagala Hospital.
Investigations have revealed that the father of the child had been clearing weeds on a slope behind the house, at the time of the incident.
The Nooriya Police is conducting investigations into the incident. (Newswire)
