The Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) says a fee will be charged at public car parks only after the initial 10 minutes of utilising the car park.
Addressing the media, a representative of the CMC said that a receipt will be handed over to motorists using public car parks to monitor the time period.
The CMC representative said it has been decided to charge a fee of Rs. 70 for vehicles that have been parked at the public car park for over 10 minutes.
He further said that there was no law to make a motorist pay a fee immediately after parking at a public car park.
The CMC representative added that parking fees will not be charged on Poya Days and special holidays. (Newswire)
