Showers are expected in several parts of Sri Lanka today, according to the Department of Meteorology.
Several spells of showers will occur in the Northern, North-central and Eastern provinces. Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places elsewhere after 2.00 p.m.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces during the morning.
Meanwhile, showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Hambantota to Colombo via Galle.
Winds will be north-easterly and wind speed will be 20-30 kmph. Wind speed may increase up to 40 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Colombo to Kankasanthurai via Puttalam and Mannar.
